Thursday, April 4, 2024 is Kindergarten and Preschool Registration Night

• 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm at Big Rock Elementary

• Parents must bring

  • Child's Birth Certificate

  • Child's Immunization Records

  • Two (2) Proofs of Residency

    • Such as a Drivers License, Utility Bill, Voters Registration, Lease Agreement, Insurance Form, Purchase Agreement or a Moving Bill.

  • Custody Papers (if applicable)

Our registration is an ongoing process. Please contact our Big Rock Office at (989) 845-2430, stop by anytime during office hours to pick up registration forms, or complete the online registration. Office hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

My Child already attends preschool at Chesaning Schools, what do I need to do?

If your child is currently enrolled in a 4-year-old preschool program at Big Rock, you are not required to fill out any further paperwork to enroll your child for kindergarten.

Parents of Head Start students, you will need to complete your registration through a hard copy packet or online.  

Do I have to be a Chesaning resident for my child to attend Chesaning Schools?

We partake in School of Choice allowing residents outside of Chesaning to complete a school of choice application form.  

What should my child know before the start of kindergarten? 

Below are a couple of items:

• Take care of their own dressing and bathroom needs (buttoning, zipping, tying shoes) 

• Recognize and write their name

• Identify some letters of the alphabet

• Count to 10
